AccuPDF (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website accupdf.com and its PDF tools (the “Service”). This policy explains what information we do and do not collect and how we handle it. The short version: the documents you process with our tools are never uploaded to us — they are processed entirely in your browser and never leave your device.
1. Your files are never uploaded
All PDF tools on AccuPDF (merge, split, convert, OCR, redact, encrypt, and the rest) run entirely in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. Your documents are opened, processed, and saved on your own device. We do not receive, transmit, store, log, or have any access to the contents of the files you work with. There is no server-side copy of your documents, because they are never sent to a server.
2. Information we do collect
While your files stay private, we collect limited information needed to run the site:
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (pages visited, general location, device and browser type, which tools are popular). This helps us improve the Service. It does not identify you personally and never includes your file contents.
- Local storage. Your plan status and daily usage count are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so the tools work. This data stays on your device.
- Contact form. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive the name, email address, and message you provide, so we can reply.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store the email address you submit in order to send updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Purchases. If you buy a Premium or Business plan, payment is processed by our payment provider (PayPal / WooCommerce). We receive confirmation and basic order details (name, email, plan); we never see or store your full card details.
3. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: essential cookies for the site and checkout to function, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics). You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; the tools themselves work without analytics cookies.
4. Third-party services
We rely on a few reputable third parties to operate the Service: Google Analytics (usage analytics), PayPal (payment processing), our hosting provider, and public code CDNs (such as cdnjs and jsDelivr) that deliver the open-source libraries the tools run on. These CDNs may see your IP address when your browser loads a library, as with any website. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not sell your data.
5. Data retention
Because we never receive your files, there is nothing for us to retain from them. Contact messages, newsletter subscriptions, and order records are kept only as long as needed to provide support, send updates you asked for, or meet legal and accounting obligations, and are deleted on request.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you (contact details, subscription, order history), and to opt out of marketing emails. To exercise any of these rights, email contact@accupdf.com and we will respond promptly.
7. Children’s privacy
AccuPDF is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
The strongest protection for your documents is architectural: they are never transmitted to us. The site is served over HTTPS. For the limited personal data we do hold (contact and order information), we use reasonable safeguards.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
